History and Structure

 

Feldman Enterprises was founded in 1998 by a core of engineers with considerable experience in the fields for Industrial Condition Monitoring and NDT. Having participated in several EU funded programmes in the late 90’s and early 00’s, they used the expertise gained during this period to present some innovative products, based on the combination of Vibration and Acoustic Emission (AE) methods, that could provide valuable solutions to preventive fault detections of rotating and reciprocating industrial equipment.

In parallel, they focused on creating integrated solutions for industrial clients, not only basing their product portfolio on AE, but offering customized systems which incorporated all other available NDT techniques, including Ultrasonic & Electromagnetic Methods.

 

The company has a Research & Development department which is responsible for the development of all AE/vibration based systems of the company. It also has an Engineering Services department which uses all existing conventional Condition Monitoring and NDT methods. Finally the company Sales department is additionally responsible for providing the client with trainings and answering to any particular custom requests.

Feldman Enterprises founders participated in several EU funded programmes focused on Condition Monitoring and NDT technology, namely:

 

· PC-CONMON BE-7405, “The development of a PC-based artificial intelligence system for the diagnosis and prognosis of machine condition using acoustic emission and acceleration monitoring”, EU CORDIS FP3 Brite Euram 2 Project, Contract No. BRE2-CT94-0949, total Project cost 3.2M€ 

 

· RECIP-AE BE96-3491, “The monitoring of reciprocating plant and machinery for improved efficiency and reduced breakdown”, EU CORDIS FP4 Brite Euram 3 Project, Contract No. BRPR-CT96-0225, total Project cost 3M€

 

· “Design and construction of a diagnostic system for rolling element bearings”, Retex Project, 1995-1996, subcontracting for ELVAL SA in Greece

 

Furthermore, Feldman Enterprises participated as a Sub-Contractor in the following EU funded programme

 

· AE-WATT GRD2-2001-50014, “Marine Power Plant Management and Monitoring using Acoustic Emission”, EU CORDIS FP5 GROWTH Project, Contract No. G3RD-CT-2002-00786, total Project cost 2.78M€

 

The scope of these programmes was applying combined vibration and AE techniques for Industrial equipment predictive maintenance methods. Feldman engineers could apply these techniques to actual machinery and rank their results. Then apply changes according to feedback and fine tune the output. Over the years this lead to a very reliable AE condition monitoring system for both rotating & reciprocating machinery. The company R&D still works on improving current systems and maintaining the results high quality in a very competitive environment. Furthermore, the R&D is responsible to produce customized systems that match the specific need of clients.
